Species of fish found in this area include: Catfish, Croaker, Black Drum, Red Drum, Flounder, Speckled Trout, Sharks, and many more.
Go for a leisurely stroll along the 1.5 mile lighted seawall in Palacios. You’re guaranteed a beautiful sight on both sides of the seawall as you walk between the town’s parks, jetties, and bayfront view of boats, birds, and watersports enthusiasts. Palacios is a relaxing city with endless things to do! In January, the Chamber of Commerce hosts the Winter Texan Chili Dinner to thank all of our Winter Texans for choosing our beautiful city as their winter residence. In February bring your sweetheart and cozy up at the Harmonie Club Valentine Parade and Dance. Grab a sombrero and join us in May for the Cinco de Mayo celebration with a fish fry, BBQ cook-off, Color Run, live music, and more. The summer is a busy time in our little town. Pirate weekend in June is a blast! The Lions Club holds a 4th of July celebration and, at the beginning of August, the Chamber hosts the Fish Fest Family Fishing Tournament. Later on in August is the Cannonball Run Youth Sailing event. Palacios closes out the year with the Monstrous 5K Run Bash by the Sea in October and the Pedal Palacios Bike Ride in November. And come enjoy a bite to eat and get your picture with Santa Claus in December.
